Iran Claims Higher Military Readiness Amid US-Israel Tensions

(MENAFN) Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Tuesday that the country’s military capabilities and readiness have increased since the most recent confrontation with the United States and Israel, asserting that Tehran is prepared for any future escalation.

According to reports, IRGC spokesman Sardar Mohebbi stated that Iran’s armed forces are now in a stronger position than before and would employ different military capabilities if hostilities were to resume.

"The best reason for this issue is that despite the use of its vast capacity on land, sea and air, America could not remove the Strait of Hormuz from Iran's control even for a few minutes,"

Mohebbi said Iran has prepared for a wide range of contingencies and remains ready to respond to all possible developments. He also claimed that the United States was unable to achieve its objectives in the Strait of Hormuz during the latest phase of the confrontation.

According to reports, Iranian officials view their performance during the recent conflict as evidence of the country's ability to maintain influence over key strategic areas despite military pressure.

The remarks come amid continued tensions in the Middle East following the outbreak of hostilities in February, when US and Israeli strikes targeted Iran. Tehran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and US-aligned interests in the Gulf region and moved to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route.

Reports indicate that regional security concerns remain elevated despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
